[Invitation] Altamiro Bernardes, Brazil

 Altamiro Bernardes is a conductor, professor, clinician, as well as a judge in international competitions. He held concerts in several states in Brazil, Argentina, Europe and the USA. In 2005 he founded the Academia Concerto where he is Artistic Director and conductor of the Academia Concerto Chamber Choir, Camerata Vocal Male Choir and Jovem Canto Youth Choir.

 

For the past 33 ye years, he has been dedicated to developing a work that takes Brazilian choirs to achieve an international standard The result of this work came in the form of 6 awards achieved in Europe. Now he is dedicated to passing on ll this experience to a new generation of conductors in Brazil and abroad. 

 

 

Altamiro Bernardes is a member of the jury at the International Choral Festival in Provence - France - where he also teaches workshops for the directors at the festival He is the conducting teacher at the Tatui Conservatory - one of the largest and most important conservatories in Latin America and also teaches at the Academia Concerto Conducting Program. In May 2014 Altamiro Bernardes was appointed Ambassador of the International Choir Festival "Mundus Cantat" - Poland. In the same yea r he conducted the opening concert of the 7th International "Edmund Szymanski" Choral Festival and the "Akademia Cantat" Festival. 

 

 

He was guest conductor at the gala concert for the 30th anniversary of the Septemthillis Girls Choir and he taught conducting workshops at the Presov and Kosice Conservatories - Slovakia. In 2019 he was chosen among conductors from all over Brazil to be one of the conductors of Mozart's Requiem at the Ibirapuera Auditorium - SP- during the Brazilian Choral Directors Association Congress. Altamiro Bernardes will be the musical director of the first edition of the opera "O Tamandua" by João MacDowell. At 21/22 season he will conduct the complete version af Handel's Messiah with the Sao Paulo Mastersingers and Baroque Orchestra and also will be the conductor of the Brazi-France Concert in Nice on the occasion of the France National Date in 2022.
