Release
Marcos has a degree in composition and conducting at Santa Marcelina College and a Bachelor of Theology from FATEP - Faculty of Theology of Parana. He got a master degree in ethnomusicology and Religious Sciences of Mackenzie University. In ethnomusicology, He had recognition in academia for his studies of music and religious relations. He studied orchestral direction with Colin Metters (Royal Academic Music - London), Dr. Jay Dean (University of Mississippi), Sergio Feferovich (Peabody Conservatory of John

Hopkins University), Isaac Karabcthevsky, Ricardo Rocha (MS Karlsruhe, Germany) and Sergio Chnee (Novosibirsk State Conservatory, Russia). He was Director of Music of Grace International in South America from 2006-2012, in the coordination of music schools, choirs and symphonies orchestras. He was music director of the Center Christ Church in Brazil, where coordinated an extensive program of concerts of sacred music with chorus and orchestra.


He coordinated the Music Department of Compassion, in São Paulo. This institution was responsible for developing a program of social education through choral music for children, youth and adolescents at risk. He was the creator of the FATEID (Faculdade de Teologia da Igreja de Deus) music course - Faculty of Theology.

 

He was artistic director and chief conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Taubaté. On the same occasion was music coordinator at the University of Taubaté, UNITAU. He performed concerts in front of several orchestras in Brazil, Europe and other eighteen countries as: Finland, Germany, Russia, Hungary, England, Argentina, Paraguay, India, Malaysia, Jordan, USA, South Korea, and among others. He was in charge of several major orchestras including the Russian National Orchestra, Waasa Sinfonietta Finland, LVC Orchestra of Pennsylvania, Chuncheon Philharmonic Orchestra and others.


At present, he is artistic director and principal conductor of the OCB Filarmônica since 2012. Through this orchestra, he has performed for large audiences at many cities in Brazil. He is artistic director of the OCB Acadêmica Orchestra as well. It was later a commentator for a group of journalism in Bahia combo classical music cd’s published by this newspaper.


Marcos was guest conductor of the Winter Festival of the National Conservatory of Music, Asuncion, Paraguay. He led the orchestra of the Academic Festival and has given master classes in conducting the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 as guest conductor to the  same festival in 2019.


This year, it will do concerts in several Brazilian cities with the orchestra principal conductor, and as guest conductor of other symphonic groups He directed the world premiere of the Concerto for Piano and Symphony Orchestra and

Oratorio Coral, Symphony Orchestra, soloists (SATB) Boys Choir and Harp, composed by

In 2016 he conducted the Olympics Game concert with the Chuncheon Philharmonie 
Orchestra with Jerry Chae, one of the world's most awarded clarinetists. In 2017 he conducted the Lebanon Valley College Orchestra (Pennsylvania) with Johannes Drietrich as a soloist and played a world premiere of Dirty Music for orchestra, the  Danube Symphony Orchestra. He premiered choral works by South Korean composer Hyun Kook in a concert dedicated to contemporary a cappella works in Brazil, as well as the fixed season of OCB Filarmônica - which the "Protestant Reformation Concert" with American pianist Shelly Moorman-Stahlman -, the Krieger String Orchestra and the Field Orchestra Academic Orchestra.


In May 2015, was the speaker at the Congress of Lusophone to be held in Portugal, 
speaking of Brazilian Ethnomusicology African music from Morocco, and constantly a 
guest speaker at many universities. In addition, at the invitation of the mayor of Campo 
Limpo Paulista, Marcos is composing the symphony of the city by the theme of the fiftieth 
anniversary of the city. 

 

During the 2018 season, he conducted several concerts with the OCB Filarmônica in 
Brazil, and other concerts as a guest conductor also in Brazil and some other countries. 
He conducted the overture of Mogi das Cruzes Winter Festival with Shelly Moorman 
Stahlman, American pianist, as guest soloist.


In 2019, Araujo conducted all season of OCB Filarmônica in 14 different cities in Brazil, 
OCB Acadêmica Orchestra 8 concerts in São Paulo city and 3 other concerts at Minas 
Gerais State. Also will appear again as a guest conductor at LVC Orchestra, visitor teacher 
at Lebanon Valley College sharing orchestral conducting classes, ethnomusicology and 
musicology classes as well.


Currently, Marcos is the general coordinator of graduate studies in orchestral conducting 
at the Faculdade de Ciências e Educação do Caparaó. He is also director of "Festival 
Coexistência" and "Festival Convicções Provisórias" both in São Paulo. Invited conductor 
at the "Festival Bravo" in the city of Santos in 2020 and 2021. Acts as musical artistic

consultant for the orchestra and symphonic band of the Military Police of São Paulo
Estate.
Marcos attended an intensive program of lectures, concerts, master classes and music 
courses, courses in conducting and choral conducting, he served as guest conductor, 
lecturer, in addition to his work as a music producer. He is a consultant for the formation 
of orchestras in social projects in São Paulo city, Brazil.
