[Invitation] Andres Martinez Becerra , Colombia

Andres is a Colombian symphony conductor as well as a double bass player and multi-instrumentalist. He studied music at the Youth Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Conservatory of the National University in Colombia, placing special emphasis on the double bass. Later, he travelled to Europe where he studied to be the conductor of a  symphony orchestra and obtained a degree at the Royal Schools of Music of UK.

 

He is a co-author of the international best seller book about orchestra conducting. In January 2019, he represented Colombia when conducting the Belteleradio company Symphony Orchestra in Minsk Belarus during the “Winter Dreams” festival.

 

 

During this international event he also was the conductor on the recording of the tracks “La Montaña Magica” and “Las Tierras Olvidadas” of the Colombian composer Andres Sanchez Angarita for his album “Salvemos La Tierra Ya”.

 

In May of 2019 Andres Martinez Becerra was awarded the bronze medal in the international workshop-competition “Sounds of Spring” for conducting The Mogilev Kapella in Belarus.

Between 2014 – 2017 he had the opportunity to conduct the Conductors’ Symphony Orchestra twice, the Huelva Symphony Orchestra in Spain and the Paraguay National Symphony Orchestra. He was also the double bass soloist in the Conductors Symphony Orchestra.

 

He was invited to be academic advisor of the “Red de Escuelas” schools of music in Pasto city, Colombia, holding down the double bass chair and guested as conductor of the Nariño University Concert Band.

 

During this time Andres has founded, directed, and taught various music symphony programs in various prestigious private schools in his native Bogota.
