K-News 탁계석 평론가 | 코리아 판타지를 마치고 머리도 식힐겸 인사동 갤러리를 들렀다. '갤러리 IS'에서 전시중인(8월 25~31알) '리정' 작가를 만났다. 처음 보는 작가이지만 숲을 배경으로 공존의 메시지를 던지는 화려하고 강렬한 표현이어서 대화가 이내 트였다. '100명의 성공한 화가들의 비밀'이란 책을 두권이나 내고, 제 2권은 지난 6월에 출간한 것이라니 따끈 따근하다. 두 권은 즉석 구매를 하고 , 두권은 우편으로 받기로 했다. 지난번 이종영교수의 오페라 책도 20권 사서 작곡가들에게 나누어주었고. , 훈민정음에 대한 책도 40권 정도 사서 이곳 저곳에 나누어 주었다. 작가는 '화가의 비밀'에서 가장 큰 영향이 어릴 때였고, 가장 큰 영향이 어머니라고 알려준다. 그런데 너무나 많은 사람들이 그림도 안보고, 음악도 안듣고, 그런 아이들은 자라서 어떻게 되고, 세상은 또 얼마나 더 힘들까? 리정 작가의 그림이 더 많은 사람들의 선한 욕망을 불태워주었으면 한다. 화려한 그림이 밖에서도 보이니 젊은이들이 몰려든다. 필자를 찍어준 즉석 사진 작가(Photo 황선영))도 그래서 오늘 친구가 되었다.
