파라과이에서 가장 오래된 64년이 된 80 인조 단원으로 구성된 시립 오케스트라이다. 지금 이 오케스트라를 이끌도 있는 예술감독 겸 지휘자는 마에스트로 루이싸란(Luis Szaran) 이다. 

또 루이싸란은 음악재단 지구의 소리(Sonidos de la Tierra)를 창설하여 매년 국제 음악 페스티벌을 열고 있으며 약 2500명에 파라과이의 젊은 음악도들이 한곳에 모여 공연을 하며 축제를 열고 있다 

현재 시립교향악단은  Covid19로 인하여 공연이 모두 취소가 된 상태이나 소규모 앙상블을 진행하며 또 비대면 공연을 펼치고 있으며 방송국를 통해 그동안 공연 했던 프로그램들을 TV에 내 보내고 있다   .. 이 오케스트라는 내가 3년간 음악 감독으로 일을 하였다.

The orchestra is divided into four main parts

First, the Asunción Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Asunción)
It is the oldest 64-year-old orchestra in Paraguay and is an orchestra of 80 members of the group.

The current artistic director and conductor who leads the orchestra is Maestro Luis Szaran.
He also founded Sonidos de la Tierra in the Music Foundation District and holds an international music festival where about 2,500 young Paraguayan musicians gather to hold and hold festivals every year Currently, the symphony orchestra has been canceled due to Covid 19, but it plays a small ensemble and performs non-face-to-face performances. I worked as a music director for three years in this orchestra.
